How is this different from the built-in reports?
Complementary. The built-in reports and dashboard gadgets are the curated, visual layer your whole team shares. The agent handles the questions those reports were never designed for, and hands you the result as a table, a summary, or a file.
Are the answers trustworthy?
The agent computes from the live data over the MCP and can show its work: ask where a number came from and it lists the records behind it. If a number surprises you, interrogate it. That is the point.
Can it write the result somewhere?
Wherever your agent can write: a markdown file, a CSV, or a Confluence page through the Atlassian MCP. The two-MCP pairing means "put this summary on our wiki" is part of the same conversation.
