Test management without Jira
BesTest started as a Jira app, and most of what makes it good was never really about Jira. The requirements, the test cases, the executions and the coverage model are ours. We are pulling them out into a standalone version you can use on their own, with no Jira licence underneath.
It is not ready yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise with a countdown. Leave your address and we will send you exactly one email when there is something to log into.

Not a mockup and not a roadmap slide. These are the real BesTest screens, running here in your browser on demo data. Click through them: store your tests, open one, run a cycle step by step, then prove the coverage.
Your whole test library, organised
Folders on the left, items in the middle. The same catalog holds requirements, test cases, cycles, collections and campaigns. This is where everything lives.
The whole core comes across
The standalone version is not a cut-down edition. These four things are the product, and they are already built, in production, and used by teams every day.
Requirements that carry weight
Every requirement gets a significance score from development complexity and business impact. That score is what coverage is measured against, so "covered" means covered enough.
Test cases, steps and BDD
Structured steps or Gherkin, organised in folders, reviewed and approved before anyone runs them. Reusable across cycles instead of copied per release.
Cycles you actually run
A step-by-step player for manual and UAT runs, with results, evidence and a review audit trail behind them. Automated results arrive through the REST API.
Coverage and release readiness
The reports that answer the only question that matters before a release: what is tested, what is not, and is the gap in something that matters.
Hosted, in your region
Cloud-hosted, nothing for you to run or patch. We already host customer data in the EU, US and India, and can bring up another region on request. That does not change here.
Open by default
The REST API and the MCP server came first, and they come across too. Your agents and your CI talk to the same data you do, which is how test results get in without anyone typing them.
What we can promise, and what we cannot
We can promise the core: the data model, the coverage calculation, the reports and the REST API and MCP server are all built and running in production for Jira customers today. Taking them out of Jira is work we understand.
We cannot yet promise a date, a price, or a one-click import from the Jira app. Those are real open questions, and we would rather answer them in the launch email than guess at them here. If a "coming soon" page has ever burned you, that is why this one is short on adjectives.
One more thing worth saying plainly: the Jira app is not going anywhere. It is the product that funds this. If you already run Jira, you do not need to wait for any of this.
Frequently asked questions
When is it launching?
We are not putting a date on it, because we would rather ship it late than promise it early. Joining the list is how you find out: one email, sent when there is something real to log into.
Is the Jira app going away?
No. The Jira app is the product we sell today, it is actively developed, and it stays. The standalone version is an additional way to use BesTest for teams who do not run Jira, not a replacement for it.
Will it cost anything?
We have not settled pricing. What we can say is that the Jira app is free for teams up to 10 users, and we have no plans to make the standalone version harder to try than that.
Will I be able to move data between them?
That is the intention, and it is one of the reasons we built the REST API and MCP server first. We are not going to promise a one-click migration until we have actually built and tested one.
What will you do with my email address?
Store it, and send you one email when the standalone version opens. Nothing else, unless you tick the optional box for product news. We do not share or sell it, and you can have it deleted at any time by emailing info@btstudio.io.
I use Jira today. Should I wait for this?
