Jira Work Item Panel

Every linked requirement, test case, cycle and execution, right on the work item

BesTest adds a panel directly to the Jira work item - between Child issues and Activity - that lists every requirement, test case, test cycle and execution linked to that issue. No separate tool and no context switch: your team sees coverage and test status right where they already work, and can create or link test objects without leaving Jira.

How It Works

The Jira Work Item Panel is how BesTest meets your team where they already are. Open any work item - a story, a bug, a task - and the BesTest panel sits right in the main column, between Child issues and Activity. It lists every requirement, test case, test cycle and test execution linked to that issue, each with the same status lozenges and recent-run history you see across the rest of the app. There is no separate tab to hunt for and no second tool to log into; the testing context lives on the issue itself.

Turning it on takes one click and is easy to miss if you do not know where to look - which is exactly why teams ask about it. On a Jira work item, open the Apps ("...") menu in the toolbar under the summary; BesTest appears as a single option. Select it once and the panel is pinned into the issue for everyone on your team. Nothing is added on top of the issue - the panel simply appears in the body, below the subtasks, where it belongs.

The panel is not read-only. A summary bar across the top counts the linked requirements, test cases, cycles and executions and gives you a Link button to attach existing objects. Each section has an inline "Create" row, so you can spin up a new requirement or test case straight from the work item without breaking your flow. Because every test object is a first-class BesTest entity rather than a Jira issue, none of this bloats your backlog - the work item gains full traceability while your Jira instance stays clean and fast.

Key Benefits

See every requirement, test case, cycle and execution linked to a work item in one place, each with its real status and recent run history.
Switch it on in seconds: open the work item Apps menu and pick BesTest - the panel pins to the issue for the whole team, no admin setup.
Create a requirement or test case inline from the work item, or link existing ones, so the issue becomes the hub for everything QA.
Stays in the full work item view (not just the narrow side panel), so coverage is visible to everyone who opens the issue.
No Jira issue bloat: linked test objects live in a dedicated BesTest data model, so your backlog and issue count stay clean.
